Indigo Architects were appointed in 2023 to deliver an ambitious refurbishment and extension project to transform a derelict office building into a modern 140-bed hotel with stylish restaurant and bar facilities.

Standing at 8-storeys, the building represents the tallest building in the immediate area and provides a key landmark locally, proximate to the surrounding business park and other key sites including the Liverpool FC Academy, viewable from upper levels on the western aspect.

The interior rhythm of the building lent itself naturally to re-configuring to provide hotel use with key considerations in providing an elegant architectural transformation, responding to the visual prominence of the building whilst meeting the exacting standards of one of the world’s leading hotel operators and maintaining commercial viability.

The new facades provide a contemporary aesthetic with the building extended and introducing a new canopy serving to provide solar protection to the newly glazed ground floor, with curtain walling connecting hotel life with the surrounding activities.

Internally, the ground floor provides reception, restaurant and bar together with all normal back-of-house spaces with upper floors providing 20 ensuite bedrooms per floor with all bespoke fitted furniture design provided as part of our appointment to the project.

At the time of writing, it is anticipated that construction will commence early in 2025.
